At Eagles Nest Preserve we have a number of fish hatcheries used to stock our lakes. The hatcheries include:
- Striper (Three acres)
- Coppernose blue gill (Two acres)
- F1 tiger bass (Two acres)
Our hatcheries are being monitored by a South Dakota University marine biologist, as part of the largest funded study in Florida large mouth bass. Through this study, biologists have tagged thousands of specimens to track size, weight and movement through transmitters. These studies assist in learning more about the behavior and habitat of the species.
